The United States Army is taking steps to ensure better hearing protection for its canine companions.

The USA Army has developed the Canine Auditory Protection System (CAPS) to protect military dogs from hearing loss. These dogs have an incredibly developed sense of sound and smell, and are invaluable in alerting their handlers to potential danger. Senior scientist at the Army Research Office, Dr. Stephen Lee,stated that even a single flight in a helicopter can cause hearing damage and reduce the dog's ability to respond to commands. CAPS is designed to block out unwanted noise, using high-quality, lightweight materials that also extend the working life of these loyal canines. CAPS appears in the form of a snood-style headgear -or close-fitting hood- that helps to evenly distribute pressure.

He also noted that the technology used in the raid on Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in Syria was instrumental in taking out the ISIS leader. Check out the video below to learn more. Spread the word by sharing this with your family and friends.
