The owner saw his stolen dog in the possession of strangers and took action himself.

Every Saturday morning, Jessica Gary would take her two dogs, Fidel and Tito, to Prospect Park in Brooklyn for a walk. Jessica usually allowed the dogs to run around for a bit, but on one occasion something unexpected occurred. Fidel, the Chihuahua mix who requires daily medication, had been stolen while walking behind her. Jessica searched the park for her pup but to no avail. Not knowing where else to turn, she printed off dozens of flyers offering a $3,000 reward for Fidel's safe and sound return. She also shared on social media that the suspect was a curly-blonde-haired man in his 30s. Her post spread like wildfire on Facebook, and many people showed their support, wishing Jessica a speedy reunion with her beloved pet.

Jessica was determined not to give up and she roamed the streets of Brooklyn in search of Fidel. Luckily, one of the people who had seen the post sent her a message with an address where her dog might be. With her friends in tow, Jessica went to the specified location and, sure enough, there was Fidel!

After laying eyes on Fidel, she realized she had to take matters into her own hands and managed to rescue him from two unknown figures. She and her companions returned to the vehicle and locked all the doors to ensure their safety from the strangers.

One of the strangers ran after Jessica and her friends, attempting to open the car doors. Unable to do so, he began striking the car window with his skateboard.

Fortunately, they managed to escape from the strangers, and headed straight for the New York Police Department to report what had happened. They assured her that she had not stolen the dog; she had merely retrieved her own pet. How courageous!
