Officers smash the window of a sweltering car to rescue a toy that they believed to be a canine.

On an extremely hot day, the officers on duty received a call about a dog being trapped in a car. When they arrived at the scene, they found Gordon William's vehicle with a pup inside. Without any hesitation, the officers in Mansfield, UK, took immediate action in an effort to save the animal's life and smashed the car window. Fortunately, upon inspection, they discovered it was only a stuffed toy! Nottinghamshire Police commented that the officers took the initiative to ensure the safety of the dog, unaware that it was not real.

Gordon Williams, aged 80, thankfully agreed with the officers' actions, affirming that they had done the right thing and had nothing to add. Furthermore, he indicated that he is in the process of discussing the £180 cost with the police to repair the window.

Williams has also stated that Little Willy, the stuffed animal, will no longer be present in the car in order to prevent similar accidents from occurring in the future. What are your thoughts? Check out the video below and share it with your loved ones!
