An officer from the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Department received an alert regarding a homeless dog on a rural property who seemed "unwell and old". He arrived at the scene to provide assistance and, upon scanning for a microchip, discovered that the dog's name was Zoey and she had been missing from her owners in Lafayette, California for twelve years. When they called Michelle, Zoey's mom, she couldn't believe the news! A meeting was arranged for the family to be reunited with her beloved pet after twelve long years.
